Newly Developed “SP Power Supply” Improves Machining Performance
The communication and throughput speed has improved in the newly developed “SP Power Supply” for the die-sinker EDM, which increased the motor control response speed by more than double. The adoption of the new “TMM4” and “BSN4” circuit improves the quality and speed of the overall electrical discharge machining range.

- LN Professional AI (Artificial Intelligence):
offers a wide range of applicable cutting patterns to respond to various kinds of machining needs. For each machining pattern, optimum machining conditions and axis motions are available.
NC programs are generated by the AI database automatically. Optimum machining conditions are inferred from the built-in discharge data and technology database by simply entering the machining plan.
- Intelligent Q3vic EDM: direct import of 3D solid model data.
The software enables the SP power supply unit to directly import 3D solid model data, greatly increasing the operational efficiency. Inputting the positioning data according to the machining instruction can be done by a simple operation of just clicking with the mouse on the necessary solid model displayed on the operation screen. - SQ-Circuit: additional voltage in the gap during EI processing with small electrodes of a complex shape
- SVC Circuit: acceleration of finishing by up to 4 times, improvement of the appearance of large surfaces, flatness of surfaces, reduction of electrode wear
- SGF4 = Nano-Wear Discharge Unit:
“SGF4“ monitors the discharge status and automatically adjusts the ON time and current to optimise the cutting results with minimum electrode wear whilst achieving the best cutting time. Now the function is also available on Copper Tungsten materials - TMM4:
The newly developed “TMM4” circuit comes as standard with AL-G series of machines which provides up to 50% more cutting voltage on the rough cutting, compared with the conventional generator. - BSN4:
The BSN4 circuit is another new feature on AL40G/ AL60G to improve the quality and the speed of the finishing cut, by controlling the ON time with nano seconds. It achieves quicker finishing with superior quality of surface finish.
