Injection Moulding Machines

а Revolution in Injection Moulding
The industry’s only precision
and ultra-precision
injection moulding machines
with separate V-shaped
plasticising and injection mechanisms
Sodick began work on the development and creation of a new design for thermoplastic injection moulding machines in 1988. This was prompted by numerous complaints from Sodick users who were unable to achieve the required repeatability and accuracy of castings when using thermoplastic injection moulding machines with a conventional linear combined plasticising and injection mechanism (in-line mechanism). Buyers of Sodick EDM machines tried injection moulding machines from various well-known manufacturers, but were dissatisfied with the results. This was despite the fact that the moulds tested with those injection moulding machines were perfect.
Sodick engineers developed an original solution by separating the functions of plasticizing — material feeding, melting, and melt transfer — from the actual injection mechanism, and arranging them as two coordinated units in a revolutionary V-shaped configuration known as V-Line®.
As a result, shot weight consistency, volumetric stability, dimensional accuracy, and overall repeatability of moulded parts improved by an order of magnitude. The design is protected by numerous patents and continues to be refined and enhanced.
Customers already familiar with the precision of Sodick EDM machines, and dissatisfied with conventional injection moulding machines, finally obtained a solution enabling ultra-high accuracy and surface quality of their products, whether moulded from polymers or metal feedstocks.
